Knife-Free Laser Eye Surgery Milestone
In the three minutes between blinks of his eyes, Jeff Williams of Fairfield Township transformed from a nearsighted guy with glasses to a smiling, slightly numb 40-year-old with perfect vision.
"It feels good," he said last week, testing out his new eyesight in the LasikPlus Vision Center on Montgomery Road. "It's going to be nice to have the future of not having to wear glasses and losing them."
Millions of Americans have uttered similar words since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of lasers for corrective eye surgery in 1995. And just like a slew of people before him, Williams has Dr. Vincent Marino to thank for his newfound ability to read and drive with his naked eyes.
