Dog's Plight Brings Donations For Eye Surgery
More than 100 good Samaritans in Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati are helping Becka keep her sight.
Reacting to a story Monday in The Enquirer, animal lovers donated $1,400 for eye surgery and treatment for a bloodhound named Becka.
The 2-year-old dog had been surrendered by her owner and arrived at the Kenton County Animal Shelter in desperate need of treatment. Becka has a skin condition involving the inward rolling of the eyelids, which causes them to scratch the cornea and can cause blindness. The corrective surgery is about $600.
